Karlov pod Pradedem is located in one of the most famous areas in Jeseniky Mountains. The town is situated in the valley of the Moravice River and approximately 7.5km flying distance from the highest peak of the Jeseniky Mountains - "Praded" elevation 1492m. It offers visitors an array of recreational and sport accommodations. It is centrally located position on the north and northeastern slopes of the mountains Solny Vrch (818m) and Klobouk (960m). On these mountains you will find approximately 13 ski lifts extending from 300 to 800 meters.

Karlov is a popular skiing destination. The skiing lifts on the surrounding slopes offer access to trails ranging in skill level from novice to expert. The ski resorts offer plenty of parking at the base of each lift. Some of the trails are equipped with snow making equipment and lighting for night skiing. All of the most popular trails are regularly groomed. The nearby ski lodges offer ski rental and service and ski school for the beginners. Thanks to the strategic location, Karlov pod Pradedem offers its visitors a beautiful surrounding natural landscape, fresh clean air and plenty of relaxing and recreational opportunities.

In the summer, the large network of marked hiking trails will challenge you from a simple stroll to an extensive mountain hike. The surrounding hills also offer challenging mountain bike trails. The county capital Bruntal is only 17km away; town Rymarov with an enclosed swimming pool is within 14.5km. In the town Velke Losiny, you will find a museum of handmade paper made in the 18th century.. The town is also famous for their thermal spas with mineral springs known for their healing abilities and is located only 47km from Karlov. You can take a hiking trail to the mountain resort Praded - Ovcarna that is located 7.5km on the beautiful "Slezska Cesta" trail where you will cross a nature trail "Velka Kotlina" and the well-known landslide "Velky Kotel".

Karlova Studanka, elevation 800m is the highest village in Bruntal County. It is an entry gate to the second highest mountain of the Czech Republic - "Praded" (1492m). This area is called "Hrube Jeseniky" and here you will find the most popular educational, hiking and ski trails of the Jeseniky Mountains. The village is located only 8km from Karlov pod Pradedem.
